We welcome inquiries from rabbis, both active and retired, interested in joining the AHR.

 

The AHR offers three categories of membership: full, affiliate and student.

 

Current Rabbis – Full Membership

If you are a rabbi, ordained by an established rabbinical school or program, and you have come to identify with Secular Humanistic Judaism as your primary rabbinic identity, you may be eligible for full membership. Full members are expected to comply with the Code of Ethics and to generally support the aims and goals of Secular Humanistic Judaism.  

 

Current Rabbis – Affiliate Membership

If you are a rabbi, ordained by an established rabbinical school or program and you generally support the aims and goals of Secular Humanistic Judaism, but are not yet prepared – or do not wish – to fully identify as a member of our movement, you may qualify for affiliate membership. We encourage such rabbis who generally support the ideas of Secular Humanistic Judaism to consider an affiliation alongside any existing membership in another rabbinic organization. An affiliate member can become a full member when they choose Secular Humanistic Judaism as their primary identity.  

 

Rabbinical Student Membership

Student membership is open to rabbinical students at the International Institute for Secular Humanistic Judaism (“Institute”) and other established rabbinical schools or programs  

 

Admission to membership in the AHR is determined by the Membership Committee.
