    Holiday Celebrations

Humanistic Jews celebrate the natural and historic origins of holidays. They view holidays as a time to reflect on themselves, their actions and relationships, and their place within the world instead of on a deity’s role within their lives.

Weddings & Other Life Cycle Events

Celebrate your wedding or life cycle event with a Humanistic Rabbi! Many AHR members make themselves available for life cycle events even to those who are not members of Secular Humanistic congregations or communities.

Welcome to the website of the Association of Humanistic Rabbis.

The Association of Humanistic Rabbis (AHR) was founded in 1967 by rabbis committed to the values and teachings of a humanistic perspective in Jewish life. The purpose of the AHR is to support the values of the movement of Secular Humanistic Judaism, a human-centered approach to Jewish life and culture. AHR members are dedicated to promoting the on-going learning, fellowship and welfare of its members.

On these pages you will find useful information about Secular Humanistic Judaism, the policies of the Association and the roles filled by Humanistic Rabbis.
